United StatesLike the Dress - NL sizing is extremely inconsistent and frustrating - AS A RULE, SIZE DOWN!!! - I had to order 2 sizes smaller to get correct fit
I have ordered 2 of these dresses; mustard coral and turquoise pink. Pros: Nice, flowy summery lightweight dress perfect for spring and summer in the deep south. Easy to dress up or dress down Flattering V neck The 1 and only dress/skirt etc. ever ordered from NL that did not have a huge amount of excess length that had to be cut off and hemmed 4 stars reflects the sizing issue Cons: I have ordered a fair amount of items from NL and have come to realize that 1. Their sizing is extremely generous and 2. Their sizing is wildly inconsistent. I am 5'1" and 175-180 pounds, 42 DD bust. I would normally NEVER be able to wear a Medium in anything. My usual size is XL or 1X. BUT, after reading the reviews on this dress and looking through the photos, I ordered a Medium and...it fit me perfectly. Now, sure it's nice to fit into something sized smaller than you normally wear, BUT this kind of inconsistency in NL sizing compared to most all other retail clothing makes it a total guessing game as to what size you actually need. Sure, you can send back if it doesn't fit and re-order but who wants to go through the hassle of ordering, waiting, receiving, sending back, re-ordering, waiting, receiving...you get the picture. Plus, sometimes you need the garment by a certain date or for a certain occasion. I like the simplicity and comfortable fit of this dress and hence the reason I ordered 2 of them. Plus, after taking the chance and ordering a Medium I knew what size to order the 2nd time. I have, unfortunately, had to return way more NL clothing items than I've been able to keep and getting hit with the shipping both ways makes ordering a much less attractive idea. I would definitely order more if I could rely on consistent and realistic sizing. As it stands, I would only order if something really unique caught my eye and I was willing to figure all of the shipping costs into my budget as well as accept that I have to guess at what size I need. NL, PLEASE LOOK AT AND COMPARE YOUR SIZING TO ALMOST ANY OTHER BRAND! I NEED TO BE ABLE TO ORDER AND GET THE CORRECT SIZE THE FIRST TIME AND NOT NEED TO SIZE DOWN 2 SIZES TO GET THE APPROPRIATE FIT!!!
